With the installation versions of Jellyfish, we get an over-all feel for our 'excitement climate' simply by watching the general behavior as the group comprised of hundreds of individual virtual fish swims from point to point. The initial version monitored the ambient temperature using sensors). The idea was that the software would act somewhat as a mood ring of the space. However, depicted as graphic animation, short of lighting the room on fire, it is hardly evident how the room directly effects the configuration of virtual jellyfish. Because jellyfish behavior (swimming, resulting in changes of location) is so sensitive to light, the second version uses cameras to monitor light changes.. The relationship to the immediate space is far more apparent.
