The child, here Logan Heitt, creates a drawing. He is encouraged to include characters and background. He then describes his drawing, answering questions and making slight changes as he comes to understand his own story. At this point, the contents of the drawing are not important, but the drawing becomes a documentation of a thought process on which the child is encouraged to embark. Having identified the key components of the story, with the child, the drawing is scanned into a computer.
